Craft Tradition

Chinese Ronghua silk-fibre flower craft

Materials

natural mulberry silk Ronghua (velvet flower craft); metal brooch pin base

Technique

Mulberry-silk fibres are shaped into Ronghua holly leaves with gold-tone wire veins and red berry accents, dusted with snow-like particles, then mounted on a metal brooch pin with a hanging snowflake charm.

Dimensions

Handmade; exact millimetre size and weight not provided in pack (no attribute sheet).

Cultural Context

The cultural name proposed is 圣诞冬青 (Shengdan Dongqing / Christmas Holly), from the holly-and-snowflake Christmas brooch motif. PROPOSED — awaiting Owner confirmation.

Care

Keep dry and avoid direct contact with perfume, hairspray, lotion, oils and household chemicals. Handle the silk flowers and pin gently. Store separately in a soft pouch or the gift box, away from pressure, friction, direct sunlight and humidity.
