Wholesale & Cultural Collaborations

CLMADE welcomes considered partnerships that bring Chinese craft traditions into contemporary retail, cultural, educational and creative settings.

Our collection connects handcrafted accessories, cultural objects and guided making experiences with clear information about their materials, techniques and contemporary use.

For wholesale buyers, CLMADE’s current earring range uses natural mulberry-silk Ronghua fibre forms. Metal fittings, packaging, variant availability and order quantities remain item- and proposal-specific and are confirmed in writing.

We review each enquiry individually. Product availability, wholesale pricing, minimum quantities, preparation schedules, packaging, shipping and regional arrangements are confirmed only after the proposed project has been assessed.

Go directly to the partnership enquiry form — tell us about your organisation, project, estimated quantity, destination and timing.

Who We Work With

Potential partners may include:

  • Independent retailers and design-led stores.
  • Museum and gallery shops.
  • Cultural institutions and educational organisations.
  • Workshop and creative-experience providers.
  • Editors, publishers and responsible media projects.
  • Curators and organisers of relevant exhibitions or cultural programmes.
  • Corporate and institutional gifting teams seeking craft-focused objects.

CLMADE is intended for partners who value accurate product information, responsible cultural presentation and a clear connection between material, making and contemporary use.

Wholesale & Retail Partnerships

We welcome enquiries from retailers interested in presenting Chinese craft-focused accessories, cultural objects and guided making experiences to an international audience.

Current collection areas include:

Products may have different preparation requirements, handmade variation, packaging needs and material documentation. A product being visible in the retail collection does not automatically confirm wholesale availability.

Wholesale Information

When a product is available for wholesale consideration, the written proposal may include:

  • Confirmed product and variant availability.
  • Wholesale unit pricing and applicable currency.
  • Minimum order quantity or minimum order value.
  • Estimated preparation or production schedule.
  • Material, dimension and care information.
  • Expected handmade variation.
  • Retail and protective packaging options.
  • Carton quantity, parcel dimensions and weight where available.
  • Shipping terms and available delivery arrangements.
  • Payment schedule and order-confirmation requirements.

Wholesale pricing, minimum quantities and lead times are not published as universal terms because they may vary by product, quantity, packaging, destination and confirmed production capacity.

Museum and Cultural Retail

Museum shops, gallery shops and cultural retailers often require more than a product list. Where information has been verified, CLMADE can discuss supporting product content covering:

  • Material composition and construction.
  • Craft terminology and cultural context.
  • Contemporary use and care.
  • Country or place of production.
  • The distinction between an established craft tradition and an individual product’s certification status.

CLMADE will not supply unsupported heritage, origin, maker or certification claims for use in retail labels, exhibition text or marketing materials.

Learn how we present the collection on The Crafts and From Material to Finished Piece.

Cultural and Educational Collaborations

We welcome proposals that help audiences encounter Chinese craft with meaningful context. Potential formats may include:

  • Small cultural displays or interpretive retail presentations.
  • Guided making sessions connected to an appropriate craft project.
  • Educational content about materials, techniques and contemporary use.
  • Editorial features or interviews with a clearly defined cultural focus.
  • Collaborative programmes developed with museums, galleries or cultural organisations.

The scope, audience, location, language, educational objectives and responsibilities of each party must be agreed before a collaboration is announced.

Guided Making and Workshops

CLMADE DIY experiences are designed to combine project materials, making guidance and cultural context. A retail craft kit is not automatically suitable for a public workshop without further planning.

Workshop proposals should identify:

  • Participant age range and expected experience level.
  • Number of participants.
  • Venue and country.
  • Session length and proposed date.
  • Available tools, workspace and supervision.
  • Language requirements.
  • Relevant accessibility or safety considerations.

Kit contents, tools, facilitator requirements, handling guidance and safety information must be verified for the proposed format before confirmation.

Corporate and Institutional Gifting

Selected CLMADE products may be considered for cultural, institutional or corporate gifting. Please identify the intended recipient group, quantity, destination, timing and any presentation requirements.

Gift packaging, messages, co-branded materials or customised presentation are not automatically included. Availability and suitability must be confirmed in writing for each project.

Customisation and Private Label

Custom colours, dimensions, packaging, product modifications and private-label arrangements are not standard services and should not be assumed to be available.

A customisation request will be reviewed according to:

  • The craft technique and material limitations.
  • Minimum viable quantity.
  • Sampling requirements.
  • Production capacity and schedule.
  • Packaging and documentation needs.
  • Intellectual-property and cultural-presentation considerations.

No custom product, sample or private-label arrangement should be treated as approved until its specifications, costs, responsibilities and schedule have been confirmed in writing.

Samples

Sample availability, pricing, shipping and preparation time depend on the product and destination. Samples are not automatically free, and purchasing a sample does not reserve production capacity or create an exclusive arrangement.

If a sample is required, explain what needs to be evaluated, such as material, colour, dimensions, packaging, display suitability or workshop use.

Territory and Exclusivity

Submitting a wholesale enquiry does not grant territorial protection, distribution rights or exclusivity.

Any request for regional representation or exclusivity requires separate commercial review, defined performance expectations and a written agreement. CLMADE does not promise exclusivity through an informal message or initial quotation.

Product and Cultural Information

Partners should use the confirmed product names, material descriptions, care guidance and cultural information supplied for the relevant item.

Product descriptions should not:

  • Describe plated metal as solid precious metal.
  • Present an individual product as officially heritage-certified without documentation.
  • Attribute a product to a specific maker, place or historical period without confirmation.
  • Replace verified material information with broad terms such as “all natural” or “pure silk”.
  • Alter safety, care or intended-use information.

Where information requires confirmation, it should not be presented to customers as an established fact.

Photography, Editorial Content and Image Use

Product images, video, written descriptions, logos and cultural content supplied by CLMADE remain subject to the permissions stated for the project.

Please explain:

  • Which content or images you wish to use.
  • Where and for how long they will appear.
  • Whether the use is editorial, educational, retail or advertising.
  • Whether the material will be translated, edited or combined with other content.

Access to an image or product page does not automatically grant permission for commercial reproduction, modification, resale or third-party distribution.

Information to Include in Your Enquiry

To help us assess the proposal, please provide:

  • Your name, role and organisation.
  • Organisation website and relevant social or retail channels.
  • Country and operating or delivery location.
  • Type of organisation and target audience.
  • Products, craft traditions or project formats of interest.
  • Estimated quantity, participant number or project scale.
  • Requested timing.
  • Packaging, language, documentation or shipping requirements.
  • A concise explanation of how CLMADE products or content would be presented.

Please do not send complete payment details, confidential contracts, identity documents or large unsolicited attachments through the initial contact form.

How Proposals Are Reviewed

After receiving sufficient information, CLMADE may:

  • Request clarification about the organisation or intended use.
  • Confirm whether relevant products or project formats are available.
  • Identify information that still requires material or production verification.
  • Prepare a written quotation or project outline where appropriate.
  • Decline proposals that do not align with product capability, cultural presentation or current capacity.

An enquiry, discussion, sample or quotation does not create a confirmed order, partnership, endorsement or licence. Final arrangements require written confirmation.
