Ronghua is a Chinese decorative flower-making practice that transforms carefully prepared fibres into soft, dimensional forms. Each petal is shaped and assembled by hand, giving the finished piece its distinctive volume and character.
CLMADE presents Ronghua through contemporary earrings and hair ornaments while documenting the materials, construction and care of each piece.
SONG BROCADE
Pattern Woven into Contemporary Form
Song Brocade is a patterned woven textile defined by the relationship between thread, structure, colour and motif. Its layered surface changes subtly with light, giving each detail depth and rhythm.

Ronghua Silk Flowers
Ronghua is a Chinese decorative flower-making tradition in which carefully prepared fibres are shaped and assembled into soft, dimensional botanical forms. The character of each piece comes from the handling of the fibres, the supporting structure beneath the petals and the final arrangement.
At CLMADE, this craft language appears in contemporary earrings, hair ornaments and other small accessories. Because materials and construction can vary between designs, each product page identifies the confirmed fibres, supporting structures, metal components and finishes used in that particular piece.

Song Brocade
Song Brocade, also known as Songjin, is a Chinese brocade tradition associated with structured weaving, layered colour and patterned surfaces. Its visual character is shaped by the relationship among thread, weave, motif, texture and light.

The preparation, shaping, weaving, assembly and finishing processes that give the object its form, structure and surface.

The documented vocabulary, motifs, historical references and established traditions connected to the craft.

How the finished piece can be worn, carried, displayed, gifted or experienced through making in contemporary life.
Clear and Responsible Descriptions
CLMADE distinguishes between an established craft tradition and the status of an individual commercial product. A piece may draw from a recognised craft tradition without being independently certified as an intangible-cultural-heritage product.
Materials, makers, places of origin, production methods and heritage-related statements are published only after the relevant information has been reviewed. Where a fact still requires confirmation, it is not presented as an established claim.
Small differences in fibre alignment, textile motif placement, hand-shaped forms and assembly can occur naturally between handmade pieces. Expected handmade variation does not include major differences from the selected design, colour or stated product specifications.
