Technique

Mulberry silk velvet is shaped into layered ginkgo leaves, edged with fine wirework and hand-assembled with bead and chain details.

Cultural Context

Inspired by the fan-shaped ginkgo leaf and the layered floral language of Chinese Ronghua. This contemporary interpretation uses silk-velvet shaping rather than traditional Ronghua construction.
