Materials

Technique

Silk velvet is hand-shaped into layered magnolia petals, shaded from pale to deep blue, edged with fine wire and assembled with suspended decorative components.

Cultural Context

Inspired by magnolia blossoms and the layered floral language associated with Chinese Ronghua, the design combines soft silk-velvet shaping, blue ombré colour and an elongated contemporary drop silhouette.
