Materials

mulberry silk Ronghua (velvet flower craft); alloy fittings with silver/gold plating; pearl-tone bead accents; metal alligator clip base

Technique

Silk fibres are shaped into vivid blue Ronghua begonia petals and leaves with gold-tone wire outlines, a gold-tone stamen centre and pearl-tone bead accents, then mounted on a metal alligator clip base.

Dimensions

Hair clip approx. 8.2×6 cm (handmade, small variations possible). Weight not stated by supplier.

Cultural Context

The cultural name is 蓝色海棠 (Lan Haitang / Blue Begonia), from the supplier pack name. A new-Chinese (xin zhongshi) style piece. Distinct from the store's Pink Begonia hair clip (CLM-RH-HTHR-HCL).

Care

Keep dry and avoid direct contact with perfume, hairspray, lotion, oils and household chemicals. Handle the silk flowers and clip gently. Store separately in a soft pouch or the gift box, away from pressure, friction, direct sunlight and humidity.
