Craft Tradition

Chinese Ronghua silk-fibre flower craft

Materials

mulberry silk Ronghua (velvet flower craft); copper brooch pin; shell pearl; freshwater pearl; color-preserving findings

Technique

Made with the traditional Ronghua (velvet-flower) technique: mulberry-silk fibres are shaped into a yellow-to-white iris bloom with soft purple petal tips and green silk leaves, accented with shell pearl and freshwater pearl drops on gold-tone wire, mounted on a copper stick-pin brooch with color-preserving findings.

Dimensions

Brooch approx. 5.7 × 9.5 cm (handmade; supplier note: manual measure, slight variation). Weight not stated by supplier.

Cultural Context

The cultural name is 迎夏 (Yingxia / Welcoming Summer), from the supplier pack title for this yellow iris Ronghua brooch. Distinct from the ACTIVE earring twin yingxia-yellow-iris-ronghua-drop-earrings — this listing is the brooch / stick-pin form. Sheet lists freshwater pearl (淡水珍珠) and shell pearl (贝珠); no gem certification claimed.

Care

Keep dry and avoid direct contact with perfume, hairspray, lotion, oils and household chemicals. Handle the silk flowers and pin gently. Store separately in a soft pouch or the gift box, away from pressure, friction, direct sunlight and humidity.

Handmade Variation

Small differences in fibre grain, outline, colour gradient and assembly may occur between handcrafted pieces.
